Sophia Mirchandani


Sophia has worked in heritage and culture for over 25 years. She has a focus on strategic planning, feasibility and option studies; project and audience development planning. She often works as part of larger design teams, ensuring the visitor experience and audience needs are fully considered within wider development plans.

Recent work has involved her in the natural heritage and environment sector, including habitat restoration and programmes aimed at creating advocates for nature, tackling the climate crises or supporting well-being. She is currently on the National Trust London and South East Advisory Board.

As a consultant for the Heritage Fund for over 20 years, she supported the development and delivery of activity and interpretation plans. She has mentored a number of complex schemes, including Kew Gardens Temperate House, V&A Exhibition Road, NPG ‘Inspiring People’, Hull: Yorkshire’s Maritime City as well as smaller community development, engagement and volunteer run projects.
